How does the UAE remote work residence visa work?

Remote residency visas allow employees to work for companies based outside the UAE while living in the UAE. It will be a self-sponsored visa.

Renting a home, opening a bank account, sponsoring family members, and sending your children to school are possible with this visa.

How long does the UAE remote work residence visa last?

It is valid for one year, and it can be renewed.

Does the UAE remote work residence visa apply to everyone?

Applicants must show a one-year employment contract and show that they are remote employees for a company outside the UAE. In addition to the latest salary slip and three months' worth of bank statements, they must earn at least $5,000 (Dh18,250) per month. Health insurance that covers medical expenses in the UAE is also required. Passports must be valid for at least six months.

Is it possible for a UAE remote work residence visa holder to sponsor family members?

UAE remote work residence visa application process

  • Register on the ICA website https://icp.gov.ae

  • Go to the Smart Services channel and log in

  • Choose the Remote Work Visa UAE option

  • Upload the required documents

  • Pay application fee of Dh300

Visit the Dubai Corporation of Tourism and Commerce Marketing website at www.visitdubai.com to register.

If you are an employee, you must show proof of employment with a one-year contract for remote work. A monthly salary of at least $5,000 (Dh18,250) is required. A three-month bank statement as well as the latest salary slip are required.

Show proof of company ownership and three months' worth of bank statements if you're a business owner.

It costs $287 (Dh1,050) to apply in Dubai. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai will review and process all applications.

From outside the UAE, applying for a UAE remote work residence visa

Get a 60-day entry permit by submitting a request on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website. Upon receiving the entry permit, you will be able to take a medical test and apply for the UAE remote work residency visa within 60 days.
